How long the criminals who destroy a young person’s life will be spared from a befitting punishment? Young children are being scarred and traumatised for life on daily basis, while offenders receive minimal and mild punishment. Another monstrous case was closed on Wednesday. A father of three minor daughters, who sexually abused them, was sentenced to only 15 years in prison. In 2008 the court in Veles also sentenced a father who raped his two daughters of 12, to 15 years in prison. A journalist from the newspaper Vecher received a statement of a sexual abuse victim.

Monstrous case of paedophilia and rape in Skopje
Minor girl was for months surviving the sexual torture of her stepfather. He threatened he would not give her money and allowance to socialize with friends. Therefore, the 51-year-old paedophile from Skopje used the time when the mother was at work and was raping the girl younger than 14 years.

AFTER THE SCANDAL IN THE SPECIAL SCHOOLS
“I was surprised when I read about healthy children who study in schools for children with special needs. At the moment all inspectors are engaged in another important matter, but in a month we will carry out a detailed inspection in all schools for children with special needs”, announced Gjorgje Arsov, director of the Education Inspectorate.

PEACE EDUCATION
The First Children's Embassy in the world – Megjashi in April 2011 started to implement activities for Peace Education, together with its partner organization KURVE Wustrow from Germany, with which it has a longstanding cooperation. The project aims at indicating the need for incorporating peace education in the teaching curricula, through promoting Peace and Non-violence as fundamental values ??in the educational system. In a series of 5 trainings for nonviolent conflict transformation and peace education, during a period of one and a half year, 12 professors (4 per school) and 6 youth peace educators will be engaged in the project. The trainees, after the first training in August/September 2011, had the task to start organizing the work of the youth clubs in their schools; while creating contents with which the youth will be sensitized through being active in the field of peace building.

The First Children Embassy in the world Megjashi is using the free SOS phone line for children and youth, given as a donation from Macedonian Telecommunications in the year 2005. But, this number gives the opportunity to receive free phone calls only from the landline phone users.

Children are still afraid to report abuse
-On our free number 0800 1 22 22, from total 106 received calls only eight of them were from children. Children are silent and suffering violence, shows the report from First Children’s Embassy Megjashi. Nine year- old child called and reported violence from both of his parents who regularly drank alcohol, and then beat him along with the other children. Today (7th of February 2012) The First Children’s Embassy in the World organized a press conference to present the report of the work of the SOS phone for children and youth - 0800 1 2222 * (toll free) and free legal service for 2011.

“Support on vulnerable groups of children in Macedonia”
The First Children Embassy in the World-Megjashi started implementing activities in the framework of the project “Support on vulnerable groups of children in Macedonia” financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation office in Skopje, whose main aim is to contribute for improvement of the life of those group of children through providing social, psychological and legal help.

Six percent of children under age five are not registered at birth, thus limiting their access to public services. Children are abused at home and on the streets, where some of them live and work. Only in Macedonia over 2,000 children are living on the streets in great poverty and are forced to beg or to work hard physical work alongside adults.

More than 2000 children working as beggars throughout Macedonian streets
