Request for responsibility from the governmental institutions for protection of the children victims of sexual abuse and more severe punishments for the perpetrators
The First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi on 26 June, 2008, requested from the judges that they punished paedophiles, children rapists, as well as those committing incests, with the most severe sentences of 10 and 15 years of imprisonment, and with life imprisonment for the most difficult cases.

Reaction and displeasure from the verdict of 15 years’ imprisonment to the paedophile Jove Kostadinovski from Sasavarlija passed by the Judicial Court in Stip for sexual assault on children guardians of the Foster Home “11 Oktomvri” in Skopje
The First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi, on 2 September, 2008, sent a reaction on the verdict passed to Jove Kostadinovski for assault and rape of one of the two 13-year-old boys with the sentence of only 15 years’ imprisonment, expressing anger and revolt for the inadequate punishment for the committed crime. We reminded that this is Jove Kostadinovski’s third criminal act in a row. He was previously convicted of the rape of a 5-year-old girl the first time, and of an older woman the second time.

To the Mass Media in Macedonia Subject: Statement
The First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi warns that the action of temporary placement of street children in Daily Centers being undertaken by the Ministry of Labour and Social Politics and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will not solve the problem of child labour abuse (practicing begging, pimping, prostitution, drugs and other forms of child labour abuse). The Daily Centers for street children are temporary solution given the fact that after only couple of hours spent at the Daily Center, the children are on the streets again. 

Promotion of the book -GOING TO COURT-
On July 2nd, the promotion of the book the book - Going to Court- was held in the House of the Macedonian Army. The book adresses every child from 5 to 11 who has to testify in court as victim or witness of violence. It's purpose is to approach to the child the situation he is going to encounter in the court room, in order to go through the court process harmlessly.

Childhood without violence - Regional program for a better child protection system in Eastern Europe
Since September 2007, the Children’s Embassy Megjashi has been enrolled in the conduct of the regional program “Childhood without abuse - towards a better child protection system in Eastern Europe”. The program began in 2005 and is going to last until 2009.

Request for financial support for prevention activities against pedophilia in the Republic of Macedonia
We are writing You in the name of the First Children’s Embassy in the World-Megjashi with a request for financial support for prevention activities of sexual children abuse in Macedonia.

Fund for Supporting Children and Young Victims of Sexual Abuse
As a result of the everyday news and cases of sexual abuse on children and young people in Macedonia, CIRa and the First Children’s Embassy in the World-Megjashi started a Campaign for collecting assets from the citizens and the companies for creating a Fund for supporting children and young people – victims of sexual abuse in Macedonia.

Safety and protection of children and their rights on the internet - CRISP
The project for Protection and Safety of the Children on the Internet (abbreviation - CRISP) is run by the Metamorphosis Foundation in partnership with the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi, financially supported by the European Union.

Second International Conference Children and Youth - Safe on the Internet Warsaw, Poland, September 18-19, 2008
The First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi, with Tatjana Janevska as a representative, attended the Second International Conference “Children and Youth - Safe on the Internet” which took place in Warsaw, Poland, on September 18 and 19, 2008.

REPORT ON THE SOS- PHONE LINE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE 0800 1 2222 (FREE LINE)
The free SOS phone line for children and young people (0800 1 2222) is the first of this kind in our country and it functions continuously for over 15 years as part of the First Children’s .

Report from the Free Legal Service, June - September, 2008
During the period from June - September 2008, the free legal service of the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi reacted to 20 cases, demanding protection of children’s rights. Namely, for three of the cases, requests were sent to the Centers for Social Work throughout Macedonia, to the Ombudsman or to the appropriate state institution. In 17 cases, petitions were sent to the Ombudsman, and in 5 cases legal help and legal advice were offered to the people who addressed to the Embassy Megjashi.

Registration for the Children’s Workshops
Within the framework of the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi, as every academic year, registration for membership is organized for Children’s Workshops in 2008-09.

Summer circus workshops for the children- members of the Embassy
On August 1st The First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi threw a performance show on the occasion of the end of the semester. The performance was prepared by the children members of the Embassy and animated by volunteers from the Circus school- National center for circus art, from France. The show presenting diverse circus skills and knowledge was realized in the yard of the Children’s Embassy- Megjashi.

Issuing certificates for completion of the children’s workshops 2007-2008
This year on June 12, the Children’s Workshops were embellished with certificates with a closing ceremony. A total of 104 children members of the Children’s Embassy, received certificates for their participation in the Children’s Workshops.

River festival by the river Vardar
Within the framework of the cultural manifestation Sko-September, under the auspices of the Youth Cultural Centre and the City Skopje, from September 29, Monday, to October 2, Thursday, Eco festival took place on the bank of the river Vardar.

Basic training in non-discrimination
From 10-12 June, 2008 in Skopje, a basic training in non-discrimination took place, conducted by the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation (MCIC), supported by OBSE’s Mission in Skopje.

Youth camp for cultural exchange, respect and tolerance - Backi Monostor, Sombor, Serbia
From 21-31 July 2008 in Backi Monostor, Sombor, the youth camp for cultural exchange, respect and tolerance was held for the seventh time. More than 70 young people between the age of 18 - 24 from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary and Macedonia participated in the camp.

“A World Without Borders” under the motto “Like a Cloud”
From 25-30 August, 2008, in Osijek, Croatia, the children’s manifestation “A World Without Borders” took place under the motto “Like a Cloud”, on which 60 contestants participated from 15 countries, and which was organized by the association for work with the young “Breza” (“Birch”). The Republic of Macedonia was represented by the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi with three representatives and three children.

A Guide for parents and teachers for protection from sexual abuse is in process
Sexual abuse of children is the cruelest violation of children’s rights. Every child can be a potential victim and can very easily fall in the arms of a felon.

Pan-Europe and Maghreb Regional Conference
In July 2007, the first European-Maghreb Conference for child labor took place. It was decided that the Global March (whose national coordinator for Macedonia is the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi) needed urgent action and mobilization in this region. From 16 -18 September this year, the second conference was organized with 22 organizations from 16 countries from the region as participants, debating on the issue of strategic goals set on the previous conference.

Mario Ferari nominated for Vice Consul of the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi in Italy
On the reccomendation made by the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi’s Ambassador in Italy Mr. Antonio Dileto, Mr. Mario Ferari was nominated for the Vice Consul of the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi in Italy.

Children’s Street renamed into Tose Proeski Street
The street that leads from the “Srbija” Boulevard to “Lazo Angeloski” Primary School in the municipality Novo Lisice which in 1994 was announced and named as the Children’s Street on the behalf of the First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi, with the decision made by the Council of the municipality Aerodrom, was renamed after the tragically deceased Macedonian pop-singer Tose Proeski.
