RESPONSE FROM THE PUBLIC PROSECUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA ON THE REQUEST FOR OPINION ON POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC CHILD ABUSE
On 05.10.2007, we got a report from the public prosecutor that the send requests are given to the magisterial handling of the Primarily public prosecutor of Prilep and Gostivar. For the decision of the Public Prosecutor we will be forwardly advised.

THE HELSINKI COMMITTEE WELCOMES THE PROMPT REACTION OF THE FIRST CHILDREN’S EMBASSY IN THE WORLD – MEGJASHI REGARDING THE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ABUSE OF CHILDREN IN AUGUST 2007
We are presenting a part of the august report related to child abuse for political purposes.

REACTION ON THE PROSECUTION ON THE MURDER OF TWO CHILDREN AND ONE ADULT PERSON IN SHOPPING CENTRE CARICANKA
Reaction by the First Children’s Embassy in the World “Megjashi” and by the Association for Democratic Initiatives- ADI about the trail of the murders of the two children, brothers Endjin (13 years old) and Enis Ismaili (17 years old) and one adult, their friend Rametula Ibishi (20 years old) in front of the Internet Cafe “21” in the mall “Chairchanka” in Skopje.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN’S RIGHTS ON THE INTERNET IN MACEDONIA
Besides the positive side of the Internet that is used for entertainment, education, business, etc, there are also some negative aspects such as distribution of illegal materials and generation of illegal activities.

CONFERENCE FOR “KEEPING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE SAFE ON-LINE” IN WARSAW
The pedophilia and the violence among children (sms messages and e-mails) develop on a parallel with the technology. As afore mentioned, the pedophilia is present everywhere, and believe it or not it present on the Internet, too. The children must be educated and they have to learn how to protect their own privacy when they are on-line.

RESULTS FROM THE RESEARCH ON CONFIDENCE IN THE CIVIL SOCIETY
MCMS has conducted research and has prepared report on “The Confidence in the Civil Society”, as part of the program for the work of the Civil Society Platform of the Republic of Macedonia. The purpose of this research was to measure the confidence of the citizens in the civil organizations and the participants in the civil organizations.

CHILDREN’S WEEK
Every year the first week of October is dedicated to the children under the motto Children’s Week. The first day of the children’s week is the Child’s Universal Day.

THE LAW FOR DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN PRACTICE IN MACEDONIA GENEL - MEGJASHI
Cooperation between Megjashi and Genel – for each bought Cannon product, 1 Euro for Megjashi’s activities

CONSULTING MEETINGS ON THE LAW FOR DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS OF PUBLIC ACTIVITIES
With a purpose to achieve an effective usage of the Law of donations and sponsorships for public activities and as a possibility to support civil society activities of common interest, consultative meetings were held in Tetovo, Ohrid, Strumica, Debar, Struga and Gevgelija. At the same time throughout the meeting the Law of donations and sponsorships for public activities and its complete implementation were presented, and questions of common interest as well as the importance of developing philanthropy in Republic of Macedonia were discussed.

PROMOTION OF THE GUIDEBOOK FOR VOLUNTEERISM
The First Children Embassy in the World – Megjashi in the name of the Civil Platform of Macedonia, implements the project “Promotion of Volunteerism” which mail goal is publishing a Guidebook for volunteerism, and promoting it among the universities in Republic of Macedonia.

APPEAL FOR HELP - SAVE TEO’S LIFE
An immediately financial support is needed for medical treatment of Teo Tasev, who is diagnosed cancer on the limp gland. He needs to be cured in Paris.

BOLTON’S FANS DONATED FOR THE CHILDREN IN MACEDONIA
On the 20th of September there was a meeting between representatives of the Children’s Embassy and the football fans of Bolton Wanderers, represented by Lee Williams that arrived in Macedonia in order to support their club in the forthcoming match with Rabotnicki Kometal. The money raised from the charity action organized by the football fans of Bolton, were donated to the First Children’s Embassy in the World-Megjashi fro the needs of the Daily Center for Children on Streets.

CHARITY ACTION ON THE OCCASION OF THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF DRAGI KRSTEVSKI-AMFI
Dragi Krstevski in his working period had worked with children and the love he had towards children was the reason for this donation.

DRAGI KANATALAROVSKI GAVE HID CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIGHTS AGAINST PEDOPHILES
As an ending of the charity actions for this period the ex-football player, Dragi Kanatalrovski on the 18th of October donated 17 000 denars to the Children’s Embassy.

CHILDHOOD WITHOUT VIOLENCE - REGIONAL PROGRAM FOR A BETTER SYSTEM OF CHILD PROTECTION IN EASTERN EUROPE
Starting from September this year the Children’s embassy Megjashi is included in the realization of the regional program “Childhood without abuse – towards a better child protection system in Eastern Europe”. This program has started in 2005 and will last until 2009. Every year there is a different area of interest:

ACTIVITIES OF THE DAYLY CENTER FOR CHILDREN ON STREETS
For more than three months now a Daily Center for Children on Street is working within the Children’s Embassy-Megjashi. The first two months were a preparation period in which we established contact and cooperation with institutions and organizations, but also contacted the families of the children that are attending the Daily Center.

REACTION ON THE INFORMATION PUBLISHED IN THE MEDIA REGARDING THE REMOVAL OF THE IMPROVISED HOUSES OF ROMA PEOPLE THAT LIVE UNDER THE BRIDGE BLIZNAK
The First Children’s Embassy in the World-Megjashi sent a reaction to the media regarding the information published in the media by the Municipality of Aerodrom, regarding the removal of the improvised houses of Roma people that live under the bridge Bliznak.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY
On the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, October 17, the First Children’s embassy in the world – Megjashi, reminds us that when speaking about poverty and social exclusion, children should not be forgiven. Despite the ratification of the Convention for children’s rights in many countries, its implementation fails to protect children from living in poverty. 

CHILDREN’S WORKSHOPS
The beginning of the 2007/2008 school year was also when the children’s workshops started functioning. The workshops are an opportunity for children of different nationalities and economical and social status to develop their creativity and fantasy. They are realized through socializing and various activities according to children’s interests, using the necessary funds for their accomplishment. 

TRAINING FOR MEDIATION IN CONFLICTS
Training for teachers on the topic “Mediation in conflicts” was held on the 7th – 9th September at the hotel Park, Ohrid where 15 pedagogues and teachers from 5 secondary schools participated: “Nikola Karev”, “Cvetan Dimov”, “Dr. Pance Karagjozov” and “Gjorgji Dimitrov” from Skopje and “Nikola Stein” from Tetovo.

CHILDREN AND POVERTY IN MACEDONIA
The Children’s Embassy-Megjashi was invited to participate at the Seminar “Decentralization in the Social Policy: Challenges for Social Inclusion Policies at the local level” that was held on the 25th of September at the Southeast Europe University.

FUNDRAISING TRAINING AT HOTEL BISTRA
On 19th - 20th September at the hotel Bistra, Mavrovo a training on the topic “Techniques for fundraising from local resources” was held, as a part of The Civil Society Strengthening Program (CSSP), financed by USAID, and implemented by ISC in partnership with CIRa, MIM and ECNL. Among the other participants from different NGOs, there was also a representative from The First Children’s Embassy in the World - Megjashi.

FUNDRAISING FROM LOCAL RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE DAILY CENTRE FOR CHILDREN ON STREETS
In the last few years, the First Children’s Embassy in the World-Megjashi has been trying to raise funds from local resources to implement its own activities, one of the important activities that we have been implementing since July this year, and we have to raise funds from local resources for the functioning of The Daily Centre for Children on the Streets.

COLLECTED ASSETS FROM THE REGISTERS IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
The total amount of the collected assets that the citizens have donated in our cash - boxes during September and October 2007, is 33 273 denars.
