CONSULTING MEETINGS ON THE LAW FOR DONATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS OF PUBLIC ACTIVITIES With a purpose to achieve an effective usage of the Law of donations and sponsorships for public activities and as a possibility to support civil society activities of common interest, consultative meetings were held in Tetovo, Ohrid, Strumica, Debar, Struga and Gevgelija. At the same time throughout the meeting the Law of donations and sponsorships for public activities and its complete implementation were presented, and questions of common interest as well as the importance of developing philanthropy in Republic of Macedonia were discussed.
This event is part of the project “Support to national Civil Society Platform/Forum”, financed by the European Agency for Reconstruction, and coordinated by the Foundation Open Society Institute in Macedonia. The First Children Embassy in the world – Megjashi and the Centre for Institutional Development CIRa, implements it.
At the meetings the Local Civil Society Organizations, the Local Self-government, the business sector and the local media were invited. The consultative meetings were held by the professional headship of Slavko Lazovski, manager of the sector for indirect taxes by the Ministry of Finances were present, Dragi Zmijanac, executive director of the First Children Embassy in the world – Megjashi, Zoran Bogdanovski, coordinator for institutional support by the Centre for Institutional Development CIRa and Orhan Usein, Senior manager of the First Children Embassy in the world – Megjashi.
Besides these consultative meetings, it is planed to organize other four consultative meetings, two tribunes and to publish a guidebook that will be useful for all civil society organizations enabling their activities that are in common interest, confirmed by the Ministry of Justice. The guidebook will also have a retrospective towards contract making for donations with business partners as well as suggestions about practical usage of it.
