First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi is a phenomenon in civil movement in Macedonia. From its very beginning, as a romantic urge of Macedonian citizens who seek for, as Hungarian philosopher Isztvan Bibo says, “small spheres of freedom” they formed it as a Non Governmental Organization.

Children's Embassy Megjashi is dedicated to children all of the time, awake for all the injustice that violate their rights. Megjashi always have new ideas and initiatives. Started from rescuing and caring fro children from Bosnia and Herzegovina, to organization of sports, artistic and educational activities in camps for children during the conflict in Kosovo, after the conflict in Macedonia they care for 16 refugees from crisis regions.

That humanitarian approach is characteristic for the organization where I am member of the Board for many years. I took participation in a lot of activities, mostly as an educator, as well as organizing and mobilizing volunteer – students from the Institute for Social Work and Policy to take participation in activities of Megjashi. Together with Gordana and Dragi, I moved from the premises opposite Russian Embassy, to school premises at Elementary School Lazo Trpovski, to the final settlement in the building opposite the polyclinic Jane Sandanski in Skopje.

In First Children's Embassy Megjashi were born the very first ideas, unprecedented and spectacular for non government movement: children – ambassadors, SOS helpline, children’s workshops, constant monitoring of the children’s rights and reaction on violation.

Gordana and Dragi, since the very beginnings are related with Megjashi and well known people in Macedonian civil world, sensitive but arbitrary when they’re up to fight for the children’s rights..
