Peace education as an integral part of the formal educational systemIn April 2011, the First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi started the implementation of its Peace Education Programme with its longstanding German partner, the non-governmental organisation Kurve Wustrow. The aim of the project is to promote nonviolence and peace as the core values for social interaction and to foster the integration of peace education into the formal educational system of the Republic of Macedonia.

From April 4 to April 9 2011 in the hotel Slavia in Ohrid, representatives of Kurve Wustrow and the First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi gathered in order to launch the project with a common planning workshop and the official signing of the partnership agreement.

Megjashi is welcoming with pleasure its new colleague Sebastian Schweitzer, a civil peace worker from Germany who will be part of Peace Education Programme Unit. The project will last for 2 years with the option to be prolonged and is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
