CHILDREN’S WEEK (4 – 10 OCTOBER 2010)Each year, the first week of October is being given to the children under the motto Children’s Week.

Children’s Week in whole world has traditionally been followed by series of activities dedicated to the youngest inhabitants of the planet in order to attract the attention of children and young people as equal members of every society.

First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi as an organization whose main mission is the children and protection of their rights and this year began with activities to mark the Children’s Week.

In the period from 4 to 10 October 2010 Children’s Embassy Megjashi organized workshops on children’s rights for children to know their rights.

During the Children’s Week, Children’s Embassy Megjashi was visited by 430 children who participated on the workshops on children’s rights. Children’s Embassy Megjashi was visited by the children of the kindergarten Izvorche and students from several schools from Skopje:

Ljuben Lape;

Blaze Koneski;

Vojdan Cernodrinski;

Mirche Acev.

Also, Children’s Embassy was visited by students from schools from othe towns in Republic of Macedonia:

Strasho Pindzur – Kavadarci

Lirija – Tetovo

Shemshevo – Jegunovce, Tetovo

On these workshops, children on creative and interactive way, according to their age, were thought to their rights. Using images they themselves defined their needs and desires and that way they were thought about what their rights are.

Children’s rights workshops were facilitated by volunteers – students from different faculties: pedagogues, psychologists and social workers, for whom a special training was organized before. The training was facilitated by Ms. Gordana Pirkovska Zmijanac, facilitator in the First Children’s Embassy in the World Magjashi and it was designed to familiarize volunteers with the way how should the workshop look and train them how to explain the children their rights in creative way, according to their age.

After the end of the workshops children got information about the activities of the Children’s Embassy Megjashi and the charge-free SOS helpline for children and youths 0800 1 2222.

All of the children who visited the Children’s Embassy Magjashi were served with tea, snacks and cookies, which were donated by MAKPROGRES LLC – Vinica.

In addition we publicly thank MAKPROGRES LLC for the help with the donation for the Children’s Week.
