ANOTHER CASE OF PEDOPHILIA IN STRUMICA Raped his 13 year-old niece for a whole year

Gj. N. from Strumica raped his underage niece for a whole year, luring her into his room, in the same house her parents lived in. The 40 year-old uncle, the first cousin of the father of the 13 year-old victim, starting from the middle of last May until April this year, had sexual intercourse with the girl every or every second day.

The girl didn’t come forward for a whole year because of fear. After the act would be finished, the uncle would threaten her not to tell anyone. If she would do the opposite, he threatened to kill her, her family and then himself. While in the beginning it happened rarely, afterwards he would call her in his room more and more, every second day or every day and had sexual relations with her. It started affecting the girl’s studying and grades, her being an excellent student. Her mother started suspecting her behavior and the day before yesterday, after coming home from work in the afternoon, she called out her name and assuming she was in the room with their tenant, she called out his name as well. The girl came out of the room shortly and after a strict reaction from the mother, she revealed what had been going on in the past year. The mother reported the case to the police and the girl taken to a gynecological examination, which established that the girl had really been sexually abused. The Strumica Police filed a suit against the suspected rapist and pedophile Gj. N. for sexual assault on a 13 year-old girl. After the last case, when in Prilep the father raped his adopted daughter, the First Children’s Embassy reacted on the matter, stating that the increased occurrence of pedophilia cases shows that the situation is alarming and frightening.

-The fact that we get reports for pedophilia and incest every week is disturbing. Adults, parents and government institutions are proving they are not functional and effective in their care. Who will protect the children if the ones that are supposed to protect them, their closes family or friends are those that are raping and abusing them? I wonder if the teachers, pedagogues and psychologists have forgotten their role of educators? States Dragi Zmijanac, Executive Director of “Megjashi”. Then he asked for responsibility to be found in the Centers for Social works, which are the ones that have to revoke parental rights to parents that sexually or violently abuse their children. “Megjashi” stated that the state needs to “mobilize” upon receiving the message that not all parents are by default responsible ones.
